I clearly don't make enough money.

I guess I must be in the don't-make-enough-money-to-even-receive-one category....

Yup, I got the catalog a couple of days ago. I love this company. I have routinely purchased all my vinyl gadgets from them (sleeves, tip cleaners, stylus force gauge, static gun, brushes, Qup) and I love their yearly catalog. I will also on occasion buy music from them. Like others I keep rotating the catalog in my room when the new issue arrives.I have also bought my current SACD/CD player and portable DAC from them. I love how fast in stock items arrive. I'm within an overnight drive from their primary warehouse for Fedex Ground. If I order before they pick for their nightly shipments I'll have it at my door the next day. Can't beat that. I also like their service and return policies.

So I shouldn't complain too much. It is nicely produced as you all said.
Hi, Biff,
Glad you posted a qualifier because I give credit to Music Direct for including affordable components and accessories in that expensive catalog. It's easy to get distracted by the big-bucks gear but it's also nice to be able to compare it with gear I can afford. And I'm a believer in the trickle-down effect of having technology developed for the fancy stuff eventually being used in a more pragmatic line of components.
Regards,
Tom
In the local audio salons the big giant stuff they have is not much better than what I have.In fact they are just bigger and louder but not better.
What does that have to do with the excellent catalog that Music Direct sends out at no cost to you?
All that stuff in that fancy catalog is very good I'm sure.
Just saying it's not really necessary to spend all that kind of money to get something that's enjoyable. I probably should have used a little better Seguay.
Understood!
No time to look at it yet.

Kudos to Music Direct for putting out a tactile work of art like this every year. Not cheap for them but it's done as well or better than anything out there in print.
I went to their old b&m location a few years ago when I was in Chicago and had a blast, nice people. Spent some money on music and came out with some great stuff. They get the majority of my mail order business. The catalog is probably a good investment for them given the average age of audiophiles. Having said that, I can't imagine younger customers not enjoying the book as well.
i get taxed because I live in Illinois. I also visited their old location. They are always helpful on the phone even if I'm just asking a question.

"i get taxed because I live in Illinois." Just think you're taxes are helping to reduce the $100B and climbing, shortfall on the state pensions.
My tax dollars are continuing to line the pockets of the criminals working in and for the government. Nothing is being done to fix the problems. Anyway, I have been to both locations. The people working there are very nice. The new location is great, it has a real showroom.
for such a politically corrupt state.

Got mine earlier this week. Like Playboy, it's fine reading. And just like Playboy it makes me sad because I'll never be able to afford whats in it.
And I love that they put it out every year! Must cost them a fortune.
At least in my case. Having a printed catalog is more of an impetus to spend than a web site.
Yes, there's a lotta big buck stuff in there. But God Bless them for putting out a catalog of such quality. I enjoy spending time with it, and from time to time make a purchase.
See ya. Dave
.
i keep it in my listening room to paw through from time to time. i have purchased from them in the past. mostly music and small accessory items. service is good. phone answerers are courteous and helpful.
seems a well run operation to me. i try not to sweat over the stuff i can't afford because maybe one day i will be able to pick it up used.

Damn near crippled the mailman.
Great looking picture of Bruce on the cover!
