Unless there is something terribly wrong here, you seem to have a very nice turntable and phono stage. I'm assuming your turntable has a VPI JMW tonearm, so that should be a good match. I just read Muzikmike's positive review of your Eastern Electric Minimax Phono Preamp and it sounds like a high-quality phono stage. Therefore, you definitely have the potential for a very nice sounding vinyl front-end.
Based on your own assessment of playing hours on your Dynavector 10x5 cartridge, my guess it that it is completely worn out. Consequently, you definitely need a new cartridge and that's where I would start. You don't necessarily need to spend a whole lot of money on a cartridge, though. I have owned expensive ones and I've owned less expensive ones, and I believe there are excellent cartridges available for less than $1000.
Audio Technica just introduced the new AT33Sa that appears to be well suited to the 58-dB gain of your Eastern Electric phono stage with its rated output of 0.4-mV. If your JMW tonearm can handle a medium compliance cartridge the Audio Technica AT33Sa might be a good choice. A slightly less expensive low-output moving coil that should work well in your system is the new Audio Technica AT-OC9/III. It also has 0.4-mV rated output, which I think is probably the minimum you should have for a 58-dB phono stage. Denon makes a pretty good low-output moving coil with 0.4-mV rated output called the DL-301II. I played one for two years in my Thorens turntable and it sounded good to me. It is even less expensive than the Audio Technica cartridges at only $329 from LP Gear.
My advice would be to get a new cartridge as soon as possible to prevent damage to your LPs. Then you will be in a better position to make a decision on whether you want to change to a different phono stage. I would start with a new cartridge before considering anything else.
Good luck,
John Elison

Mr. Ellison has hit the nail on the head here. Try another cartridge (or two if you have the money). Good candidates have already been posted. But since you have an Aragon 47K, I'll suggest one more - a high-output wood body Grado, as much as you can afford. Grado/47K work very well together.
