"The Premier MMT is an S-shaped tonearm manufactured for Sumiko by Jelco in Japan."
Same specs as the SA-370H, including effective length, overhang, oil damping, etc.
I've been using the SA-370H on my TD-150 for 5 years now. Very satisfied.

Henry, you had that turntable on Asylum Trader not to long ago. That doesn't sound very satisfied to me. Not judging, I have done the very same thing....
I am happy to say I think the TD-150/Jelco combo will be with me until they pry my cold clammy hand off the cueing lever.
I know you do not care for the SA-370H, so you might preface your remarks, no?

It's not about what I like it's about what you like. I was just surprised at your comment......
Really?

No my preferences don't have a bearing on it. I am not so ego driven that I think my opinion is the only way. Like some folks on this forum.
Our viewpoints are shaped by our experiences, whether we realize it or not. Simple fact of life. Part of being human.

If you are going new consider a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon and get a good cartridge and phono preamp. Also look for a used Rega P3, Music Hall 5.1 or 5.1se
If you want a vintage TT here is my experience with a Thorens TD-145 and a Pioneer PL55x that I recently bought for $250 and $150 respectively. Both were in mint condition and were gone over by electrical engineers that sold them to me. Both sound great and are better than anything under $600. But there is always a risk of failure with any Vintage gear.
I recently got back into vinyl and puchased a Thorens TD-145 and a Pioneer PL-55x. I was using the Thorens with a Nagaoka MP-200 cartridge until yesterday. I took the Thorens apart as a friend of mine is making a new wood cabinet for it out of Cocobolo wood (one of the top 3-4 most dense woods in the world)which should be better than the veneered press board it came in. In the mean time I hooked up the Pioneer and I am pleasantly surprised. The 2 TT's could not be more different. The Pioneer hits hard, has more punch and is very dynamic and musical. It has much deeper bass and a warmer, slightly darker sound than the Thorens. It's sound is a little more forward and the midrange is fuller but there is a little less transparency and air with the Pioneer. It is more forgiving than the Thorens of poorly recorded and bright music.
The Thorens in contrast, sounds a little more hifi and has a more neutral, detailed, delicate, open and airy sound and is better for vocal and jazz except for piano which is more pleasing with a little warm coloration that the PL-55x has.
I wish I had the room to keep both running. The Pioneer is definitely better for Rock n Roll. I will probably keep the Thorens set up and use the Pioneer as a back up or give it to my son.
