then again I really do not want to touch the board. I am glad o have a quiet Cornet now I do not want to tempt fate. Looks easy, still ..
Don't touch it if you do not need to.
I am sure that it is the same for the original Cornet(filament voltage). As far as I know, the Cornet2 uses the same layout and circuits as the Cornet 1 but with other features as a result from the early "tweakers" inputs of the originals performance.
I know for sure that the original Cornet1 has an option to install CCS while in the Cornet2, it is already incorporated. Not sure about this as I cannot remember anymore but the 1 uses 200 series Hammond PT while the 2 uses 370BX(300 series).Enjoy your preamp. Try Mullards on AX and Telefunken on AU if you have SS amp, all Amperex BB if you have tube amps. The 5814 in the AU position is too dark and mellow for me. As Jim Hagerman says in the forum before:" AX's for the tone, AU's for dynamics."

I remember that ... great rule of thumb.Yes, you are right about the transformer. Curious, can I add CCS using the 2xx transformer? ... but the machine customized by Stu already seems very dynamic.

Yep! As the AU's is being use as Cathode Followers(CF) on the particular circuit, so gain is unity(~1). The AX7's on the other hand are the gain stages.
