from orig analog masters...
I have several reissues from this series: are you experienced, axis bold as love, electric lady land, & valleys of neptune. I have original US LPs as well. IMO, these reissues sound great. Remastered from analog master tapes & mastered for vinyl by George Marino at Sterling Sound. Still avail @ orig retail prices, AFAIK.
Regards,
Jim

Follow Ups:
Have you compared Electric Ladyland from this series to the "Experience Hendrix" one from a few years back?
I ask, simply because I have the Experience Hendrix version of Electric Lady, and while it sounds good, it just doesn't seem to engage me as much as the Family issues of Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold as Love (which are both eye and ear openers, IMHO)...

I only have two copies:'71 brown label reprise pressing (IIRC reportedly sounds better than 1st press???) and the Authorized Hendrix Family 180g reissue, mine happens to be numbered. I A-B'd these two, and the 180g wins. The vocals are not nearly as buried in the mix, nicely forward and everything sounds GOOD, IMHO. YMMV.Jim

That may very well be the case.
IIRC, the first mastering of Electric Ladyland wasn't cut properly, with all the out of phase sounds/effects being "fixed".
The second string was "corrected". I'm trying to remember exactly what Eddie Kramer said in the book "Hendrix: setting the record straight".
My Experience Hendrix version sounds okay, but I find the Family Trust versions of Are You and Axis sound incredible, rather than just "clean"...

Agree 100%. Also, the Winterland and Berkley releases sound great. Cry Of Love and Rainbow Bridge have just been released but I haven't heard them.
The thing about RB & COL is if you have decent early pressings, then you probably will have "sterling RL" in the deadwax, i.e. Robert Ludwig mastered, which I have, and they sound very fine.
