Just cleaned my new mono box and spinning "Please Please Me"....first reaction is that the mono box sounds analog, while the stereo set sounds sounds like it is digital - way more depth and "roundness" to the sound. We'll see if that reaction continues as I work my way through the set.
But....why does that mono box not contain "Let It Be" and "Abbey Road" - yes I know that the primary mix on those was stereo, which is not true for the recordings in the mono box....but what a shame that we don't have LPs sourced from the analog originals. Fortunately for me I have the Japanese Let It Be Naked LP (which I way prefer to the Spectorized Let it Be) and my original Abbey Road.
Maybe, as there was with the CD remasterings, there will be a "US" stereo box and they will go back to the original tapes for those. I personally prefer the songs and order on the US "Rubber Soul" to the UK original - nothing like starting with "I've Just Seen A Face" and moving to "Norwegian Wood".
Now if we could only get a Dave Clark 5 box with this level of detail.....
Follow Ups:
I listened to "Rubber Soul" and "Magical Mystery Tour" yesterday. I prefer the mono RS to the ping pong stereo, but I like the U.S. track listing better. I also prefer the mono MMT to the stereo, only because of the tracks on the stereo that go all fake phasey sounding stereo. However, while the bass is more prominent on the monos, it's a bit tubby. And no, it's not my system doing that.

this is from the person who has the Original UK releases and compared them.
How is the Sgt. Pepper mono?
Mine arrived yesterday but haven't had a chance to compare to the last stereo reissue.
I don't have the Pepper mono. I bought the ones that I didn't care for the stereo pressings, or in the case of "Help" because I only had the pressing with all the movie orchestral work interspaced.
I'm not finding "Help" to be any different as far as the bass is concerned. A bit plummy. I'm using an Ortofon 2M Black on an upgraded Rega P3-24.
All three LP's have some "whoosh" between tracks. I'm enjoying them, but I may have set my expectations a bit high going in.
I'm hoping "Please Please Me" and "With The Beatles" are better. A lot of my favorite tracks are on those two.

Let's see if this is any better than their 2012 Stereo reissue which I thought was just fair.
...didn't disappoint. No plummy bass here, and a nice overall treatment of the very early LP's.
See ya. Dave
I'm not a big 'mono purist' but OMFG these sound incredible.
I've never heard the Beatles like this. It's like you're in the studio listening to playback.
If you're on the fence on this... just BUY IT. WOW.

Not to split hairs with volunteer's post below, but I think it's more accurate to say that neither abbey rd nor let it be had their respective multitrack recordings "mixed" for a mono master, only stereo. So, mono versions of let it be & abbey rd were "fold-downs" of the stereo masters, not a true mono mix derived from multitrack (8 or 16?) tapes. I understand first two albums, PPM & WTB, were recorded on a twin track machine & overdubbed to another twin track, which is why a real stereo image was pretty impossible. Link below.Regards,
Jim

There is a Brazilian pressing of
And Let It Be
You know the answer. It's the Mono Box. Neither was recorded in mono. They could have done a stereo fold-down if the original analog stereo masters still exist and are usable. If not, a fold-down of the new digital masters buy why?
