The party album of 1966. Wore one pressing out just at parties . . .
Opus 33 1/3
Follow Ups:
Still one of my (and D-wife's) favorite FZ albums, at least for musical accessibility.
Personally, I would favor Joe's Garage (Acts I, II & III) or even Thing-Fish (only have it on CD now; used to have the triple LP), but D-wife is sensitive to some of FZ's, um, more "colorful" lyrics, so the predominantly instrumental FZ takes precedence at Chez Dman...

OT maybe but i just streamed Leonard Cohen's latest album, Popular problems from the link below. Especially "Almost like the Blues" is a killer track IMHO. The man is 80 years old! Respect!
"The torture never stops"Greetings Freek.
Leonard is amazing. We lived rather close to each at one time. My home was at the foot of Mount Baldy and he was living at a Buddhist retreat on the mountain.

After several years of listening with headphones 95% of the time, now that I am single again I can listen to speakers more often ...even late at night ...my favorite time to listen. I'm rediscovering just how much I like my system.
Tonight I enjoyed Janis Ian, Gordon Lightfoot, Stephen Stills, John Hiatt, Neil Diamond, Joan Armatrading and Joni Mitchell, to name a few. It was a wonderful night. I even took a crappy cellphone picture to commemorate it.
Good night.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
I remember the days of being "on my own" after my big split! I did it almost obsessively when I was "on my own" - it became almost a religious experience for a time (actually, it still does when permitted). Loved being able to play things at my personal volume (not earth shaking, but certainly louder than the TV!).
Luckily, and at this point of my life, if I hit upon the RIGHT MUSIC, the neighbors are out for the evening (they live upstairs) D-wife just might crawl out from her TV watching in the bedroom, onto the Hot Seat, push me over a little, and listen too!
Life is (usually) good! Sometimes it gets even better!
Cheers,
Dman

I generally prefer quieter, moodier music late at night ...stuff that provokes thought ...no head-banging stuff. I find it calming. A nice way to de-stress.
I save the loud stuff for during the day.

Or as D-wife calls it- that Weird Stuff.
Said Weird Stuff would include (but not be limited to)-
Tangerine Dream (Phaedra is a personal favorite, all the way from pre-teen to today), The Irresistible Force (love their album Global Chillage) and more well known stuff like Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack and Wendy Carlos self-penned material (Beauty In The Beast, Tron Digital Moonscapes).
Late day/early evening stuff would be just about anything (with exception to Country and Rap).
It's usually open season here at Chez Dman, but I do like those late night, moody, Weird Stuff, listening sessions.

time to share
way.
way.
So many LPs at my age and the arithmetic, says share. I've played it a number of times over the years, but it time to move on. Perhaps, others thinking in this way, may allow a "long sought after" LP to grace yours and others shelves, down the road.
Happy spinning!

Found a NM copy at the thrift store for 25 cents. Great stuff.
There must be a thousand other places to be . . .
Must be some other way to look good in your eyes . . .
Why am I up here, what do they see in me?
Why me?
While I've never had a Saturn V rocket strapped to my a$$ with no possible way of bailing out, it seems to me this song perfectly sums up the feeling of panic I would experience in such a situation.

...after reading other Inmates' overwhelmingly positive impressions (of the new mono reissues) in a previous thread right here in the Vinyl Aslyum earlier today, I went down to my local record shop and picked it up tonight. (Big "Shout Out" to Schoolkids Records here in Raleigh, NC- plus they gave me a free "The Beatles Mono" t-shirt for purchasing the record!).Believe it: if this particular record is any indication, these mono vinyl reissues ARE that damn good (and one doesn't need a mono cart to realize this)!!! Vinyl is quiet, sonics are spectacular; mono presentation has it all over stereo version(s). It is indeed the best I've ever heard this record(ing) presented.*
(*Note: Have yet to compare it directly against the mono CD reissue that I have as part of that box set)

I have that LP somewhere too (as well as Elements' first LP).
Between Mark Egan and Jaco Pastorius (Egan's mentor and teacher), I almost NEVER want to attempt playing fretless bass ever... And I've been playing for 26+ years at all levels!
Favorite tracks- "Go Ahead Stan" and "Walk In".
Enjoy! I just might have to pull that one out tonight!

Cause it's that kind of a near-autumn night.

A recent find, from Billings on Saturday. Great record.
Yes, it is. Picked up a copy of it years ago when I was yard sailing. Mine is slightly smaller than 12" .
