Pulled out my DIY GEM Dandy and started cleaning my records!
It's nice to have clean records with almost zero clicks and pops! For some reason the soundstage sounds even deeper than before on LPs that were played earlier.
Now time to go a spin some LP's! :)

not for 6 bucks worth of plastic and a hose attachment.

I couldn't see paying that amount for all those parts you could easily get at Home Depot or Lowes which I did! ;)
The thing is that this type of cleaning really works on dirty LP's that my Nitty Gritty couldn't do.
Gem dandy, sounds real high class.

...with cleaned records; the soundstage does indeed open up. Also, the details are more 'present' and everything sounds a bit clearer overall. Also, the vinyl itself looks like-new in a lot of cases....overall, I clean everything now.

on LPs I listened to before. I guess with all the dirt out the ears can concentrate more on the actual music. :)
How does the Gem Dandy compare to the Nitty Gritty?
You have a nice system also!
I use the DIY GEM Dandy jig on all Lp's I clean now but I do use a wet record cleaning brush (Goat hair brush) while cleaning and rinse with distilled water via pressurized sprayer.
I used both Nitty Gritty record cleaner and the GEM Dandy solution with great results. Next up I will try the RRL cleaner that I have had for a while and see how that works.
I have gotten LP's that had stubborn finger prints or noise in the grooves that wouldn't come out before now totally gone and records that are super quiet compared to before the cleaning. I may still make my own record cleaner for drying off the records after washing with the GEM Dandy for faster play time but letting them dry for 20-30 mins isn't bad either. I just do a lot of LP's at one time.
Hope this helps.
