Nothing exotic or over the top here...just strictly utilitarian equipment.
Do you suppose Audiophiles are like sports car enthusiasts, as far as them buying expensive high power toys to compensate for being inadequate in some other areas?
Follow Ups:
You smell like a troll to me, with the above personal attack that is irrelevant to the argument.
Later Gator,
Dave
Wikipedia: "In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]" .
The OP asked for suggestions to help him determine and adjust his turntable speed. My response was relevant to the discussion. Most of the responding posts were a direct attack on my attempt to provide information to the OP, calling it "needless junk, excessively expensive, obsessive", etc. Certainly meets the definition according to Wikipedia...
So you are correct. There are definitely trolls on this website.
I guess a post like this is why they call it the Asylum!
Mel, you've inspired me; I think I have a great idea for a new product: a strobe disk with the spots randomly displaced from the ideal location to produce a "built in" diffused accuracy. What level of inaccuracy would you consider adequate for the task, suitable for an enlightened audiophile? I certainly don't want to go down the same dead end road that the bloke from Phoenix Engineering did; what in the name of the Wide World of Sports was he thinking anyway!?!
