Lyn Stanley has a new album, and it is going to be a keeper.
I met Lyn at RMAF last year when she played her first album in our room. The album was a big hit with the critics and listeners alike. Well, she has a new one coming. It may even top the first one. If you preorder it, she will sign it, and throw in some extras.
The link is to a video that was made at a show in the Genesis Loudspeaker room. Gary Koh, the owner of Genesis, says the album is nothing short of stellar. I trust his taste in music.
Anyway, I don't have a dog in the race, except that I met Lyn once, and I like her singing. I also like the care that was taken in the production of her first album.
Follow Ups:
I was in the room last year when Ms. Stanley came in and played that album. It was a great moment, and a great album. I bought (and have enjoyed) the signed edition and I'm looking forward to the new one, too! Should we be on the lookout for her at RMAF again this year? :-)
whereas i didn't speak to her, i saw her listening and i believe she may be an audiophile. i got the first album when she performed and sold albums at weinhart design in bel air calif.
the album is right up there in quality but some odf h=the singing is limpid as if she weren't trying hard enough to convey the songs with real style. but once "Fever" started, she had things under her control. hopefully this second album is ALL that way.
the musicians are top notch and the recordist-al schmitt is superb (check his work on the diana krall dvd "live from paris".
with all this, i am hesitant to buy this at 50 bucks. maybe i will be sorry i didn't rush to the fore and get the signed/numbered issue. the singind=g sounded great on the website.

Hey HiFi
I went ahead and ordered it. Will bring it down on my next LA trip and some smoked salmon and maybe we can impose upon Matt and listen to it through that awesome Shindo shit at his shop.
Also, thanks for the heads up Mosin. Really enjoyed her first album and looking forward to this release.
Just ordered this and had three nice email exchanges with Lyn. Didn't expect that!
Looking forward to the album. It will be my first 45 LP.
She was at the California Audio Show with a real to real tape of her new LP and you are right it was really something. She was also real likable and seemed to really care about the sound.
