I am putting together the above system. I will be using Tekton Design M-Lore speakers with a Musical Paradise MP-301 mk3 amp (6 watts) I don't know what phono preamp I will use yet but I will be using my Empire 208 with Jelco SA-750D arm and Denon DL-103R cart. Is there anything to consider when using vinyl with this kind of system? Is there anything I should look out for as system matching? Thanks

I drive full-size Lores with a Decware Super Zen and CSP2+ preamp (2wpc into 98db). Source is a Rega RP3 into a Rogue Audio Triton phono-pre. The only thing you have to be concerned about with this type of set-up is the glare your wife gives you because you've been neglecting her in favor of listening to your system..
the concerns will be between the cartridge and phono stage, while the speaker/amp choices have little to do with it? Seems to me the issues will be is there adequate gain for the low output of the Denon and is that gain quiet enough so it does not interfere with listening enjoyment regardless of the back end of the system.
A few years ago I experimented with HE speakers (Cain & Cain BEN) and SET amps (Tri, Cayin, and Art Audio) and found no apparent problems with vinyl playback.

You need to be careful about how you achieve the necessary gain from the Denon cartridge in order to avoid too much noise in the system. You might need to use a solid state phono preamp, or SUT (as previously mentioned)into a MM phono stage
The Denon DL-103r is a low output MC cartridge and many phono stages do not have sufficient sensitivity to boost the small signal from the cartridge. You may need a step-up transformer.Sounds like a great low wattage system. Enjoy the vinyl experience!
would like them, I think. It likes my medium high efficiency JBLs just fine. The M-Lores are 95 dB w/m. My JBLs are 91 dB w/m.
Opus 33 1/3
Not only are they high efficiency they sound great in my 15x21 room. Plenty of bass......
Been looking at the M-Lores and the larger Lores with 10" woofer. They are 98 dB/w/m
Opus 33 1/3
Yes I did get the grills, but I don't use them. I bought them used with grills real walnut wood finish and silver cap upgrade. I noticed that the grills added a certain chestiness to female voices. I know don't laugh you know what I am talking about......
I have a Decware Mini Torii with Ref3A de Capos- 4 watts into 92db.
Love it. I got a used Hagermann Cornet II, a wonderful tubed phono stage.
So no noise problems from the Hagerman? I have the parts for one that I purchased three years ago that I need to build. This what I will use with the amp and a SUT to boost the signal.....
