Thanks for that full detailed information. Why do they always say Joe Grado invented the Moving Coil cartridge?
Follow Ups:
Because they oversimplify history and try to boil it down to gruel like most of us were taught in school. Joe Grado was only one of many who contributed to the development of cartridge technology for years. His efforts were part of project teams to develop MC carts in the early 50's, but he never claimed to invent it, but he did earn a patent for the first Stereo MC cartridge. He eventually discarded the MC as the best way to get music from the new LP format as he believed the moving iron design had more potential. I'm glad he did as I have no desire to go back to MC carts after having spent the last 2 years with a Grado Statement on my arm.
Everything is going to the dogs
Just love dem Grado's!
Maybe because Joe Grado held the patents?
Not that he did much with them.
Thanks again!
