Except for strain-gauge cartridges, all other cartridges used today are magnetic cartridges. They include moving magnet, moving coil and moving iron.

I wonder why they say Joseph Grado invented the moving coil cartridge back in 1953?
The fax system actually dates back to way before WWII. As an invention became patented, the publication of the patent might appear internationally within hours or days ! This is how a Euro or Asian company could apply for a very similar patent in their countries during the same era ! Research the invention of the vacuum tube and you will be amazed how many inventors and countries claim the "first."
