wow... definitely the Kuzma.
It seems that the other has taken the borrowed (patented) bearing design from frank schroder off their $1400 rig and made it a $1600 stand alone arm.
I saw this coming a few years back and i predict a $6000 magnetic bearing arm in the next year or two.

Follow Ups:
They are called CloneAudio for a reason! Not just copying bearing, they also ripped off the headshell design in their earlier tonearm models.
Regarding the choice between the above two turntables, I was going to pick the CA for the look, for its clean lines, and 78rpm feature. But a table that allows 78 and not have a tonearm with detachable headshell is meaningless. Just think of the chore of switching between 78 and 33 because you can NOT playback using the same cartridge. Audiophile analog playback has become a masochist endeavor that playing a damn record already requires so much work -- record clamp, fish pump, record cleaning, record ring clamp, etc.... -- that if I have to change cartridge set-up every freakin' time for a different rpm, I would have to into an asylum! Oops, I'm already in one!
In the end, I'll go with the Kuzma.
I agree wholeheartedly. That is very weird to have 78 RPM without the capability to easily change cartridges. Maybe Clearaudio's philosophy is to sell you two turntables -- one for 78-RPM and another for 33 and 45. ;-)

John Elison
unless they struck a deal.

True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.
quote by Kurt Vonnegut
Unfortunately the enforcement of patents simply comes down to who has deeper pockets and this is not Samsung vs. Apple. Sadly, this allows the big guys to freely take what they want from the little guys since theft and the possibility of endless litigation are to some a better economic move than striking a legitimate business deal.

includes the cost of protecting the patents :)...

Protecting oneself against the unscrupulous is an expensive proposition, regardless of the outcome. Sometimes, it proves to be too expensive.
At least, we can tell the difference between a cheap copy and the real thing.
...a Kuzma will actually work!
