Thursday starts my weekend(sometimes it's good to be me) My wife got a last second invite to see Phantom of the Opera with a friend so it's vinyl trumpet jazz night at realistic volume. Booker Little, Roy Hargrove, Lee Morgan, and finish off with a Harry James direct to disk. A $20 bottle of California cabernet. Did I say it's good to be me? Happy Thursday! Shoot I was typing, now I have to play that side of Booker Little again.

Eric Clapton released a tribute album called The Breeze, check it out on Spotify. As always with EC, it's perfect craftsmanship but no real inspiration. I prefer spinning the originals on the original medium on vintage equipment! Okie, Naturally, Really, 5. Trying to keep cool in the hot summer!

The wife of a work buddy has a thrift store where she occasionally get in records of "undetermined worth" as work buddy likes to say. He mentioned an Elvis record "that might be worth some money", but didn't go any further into things. I think he might be trying to get it for a quick eBay sale...

...Santa Monica, CA. The yard sale lady didn't have any records out. I asked if she had any, and she said she had some 45's. She brought out a box, and they were pretty much trashed, except for the Elvis. Lucky day!

Very nice score! I may have to take the drive up to Newton this afternoon and investigate (although it is supposed to be 106 outside today!)...

parent of Harman-Kardon. I bought these unauditioned because the design interests me. Dual smaller woofers, 4" midranges and the top 2 in a D'Apolito array with the tweeter. Plus they are still relatively efficient, 91 dB/w/m and have decent bass extension, -3 dB at 37 Hz.My 20 wpc tube integrated drives them just fine and I figured if I didn't like them I wasn't out much. They retail for $450/pr and I got them for $250.

Speaking of good ol' folk rock. And he's also very pro-analog, btw.
