for $99.75 :)
Those were the days.
Today it would be $809.97 hell can any of you make a table for that kind of money as good as the TD 124?

Follow Ups:
It would be fairly easy to make a truly wonderful table for under $1000 using the manufacturing capacities we now have, IFF you can guarantee that there will be 10,000 units per year sold.
If that sounds crazy, it isn't: Garrard sold about 80,000 of the 301 in ten years of production, I should think Thorens sold many more 124s.

a 100 or a 1000 or 5000 a year?
Kickstart maybe?

A while ago I talked to the people who are developing the new magnesium casting process I would use and it's basically $50,000 - 100,000 per item setup cost and a few dollars per piece thereafter.
Similarly, getting someone like Thingap to develop the motor requires a large purchase commitment or a lot of up front money.
The best way to do the motor controller would be in 1000 or 2000 piece batches.
Unfortunately, this is all the stuff of idle fantasy: the market is simply not there for these quantities.

The HW 124 I, think we'd be talking $5K for the base model ?
$10K for the HW 124 III ?
