Already aired here CST. VERY interesting. Those muscle shoals guys were amazing. Liked Keith Richards musing that some of the earlier stones hits like jumping jack flash, et al, might've come out even funkier if they had been recorded at muscle shoals.

Very well done program. I knew of a lot of what was recorded there but the extent of the contributions of those players and studio was news to me.
If it wasn't for PBS I'd have nothing to watch much of the time.
Last evening I finished watching "Bob Dylan, No Direction Home" and was about to go to bed. But then I saw this Independent Lens program which was only a few minutes in. I was hooked and watched to the end!
I see it was the film maker's first film. Being a musician must have helped and I agree, it was well done. Muscle Shoals should be well known to anyone interested in popular music but I didn't realize the extent of contributions by the two recording studios either.
And yes, I'd say at least half of my live TV (not counting movies) comes from PBS.
