That may be. OTOH, it may be that Mr. Cowboy is just more willing to take his pick axe and work the mines than the rest of us. I've seen ads in craigslist for LP collections in my area, I'm just not willing to drive 20+ miles to check them out. Nor will I build a huge climate controlled warehouse to hold 100k albums, as he apparently has. He has earned the right to all those great LPs at pennies a piece, we, or at least I, have not. ;)
Wyoming is a gold mine of people who don't think like we do.
I've lived in many places, including crowded urban centers back East, and Wyoming is a special place in many ways.
A prior comment about "climate controlled warehouse." Not exactly, but I do have a nice 1,500 square foot shop building and a roomy 600 square foot studio. Storage space is not a concern when buying larger lots of records. The bigger issue is the time involved to sort, clean, and cull thousands of used records. As an example, I acquired a large collection of 10K+ records from a local fellow six months ago. It's going to be 2-3 years before I finish cleaning, listening to and filing those that I'll keep and selling the rest.
