My Jelco is 20-25 g with the Sumiko HS-12 headshell. It's a very good match with my DL-103.

I don't mean to sound nasty, but I truly don't understand how this is relevant. The DL-103 and Benz Glider are both MC, but the similarity ends there. The DL-103 was released in 1963 and has remained unchanged since then. It weighs 10.5 grams and it's suspension was likely designed to suit the arms of that time which tended to be either low mass or high mass (with the SME3009 I gave up being the postergirl of low mass). The Benz Glider on paper only weighs two grams less at 8.5, but it has a drastically different suspension and needs a mid-mass arm, not a high mass arm like your Jelco and not a low mass arm like the SMEs. As far as I know, VPI arms and Benz cartridges have always gotten along very well, even though on paper the older 9" VPI arm was less than optimum.
I don't get it-are you one of the legion VPI bashers or what are you getting at, exactly?
your arm is not the best for true low compliance MCs. I thought mt JMW-9 was OK until I heard my LO MCs on the Jelco. No comparison.

I used a 4 gram weight with my Zu/Denon 103 and it worked great. But the Zu already add a good chunk of weight to the 103, so there have it.
I think the average MC will work fine on the JMW-9. Plenty of people out there using them.
