I've got too many records and have decided to sell a few each week. Having gone the ebay and agon route and not being too satisfied, I thought I'd post a few ads here.
Rather than having the records linger in the Trader forever and a day, my plan is to have a quasi-auction. The plan is to list the records on Wed each week and accept the highest offer made by 6 pm on Sunday and shipping out Mon or Tues.
The offers would be made via pm to me and no other member would be aware of any other members' offer. Something zero pressure and low key is what I'm after. The one thing I would ask is that the offer be a genuine commitment on that member's part.
Thoughts/imputs?
Thanks.

Personally, I don't always check the Trader or other sources but I do check my email.
It might work,

We don't shush around here!

A local B&M audio store in Minne-a-no-place used to sell vinyl on consignment for a very select group of customers (I say "used to" only because I haven't stopped-in for quite some time). If you have formed a relationship with a local store, and if they sell used records , perhaps they would be willing to do the same for you....

Simplify.
You also might look at putting them on Amazon. Easy-breezy...
Here's another thought.
I always have a problem of duplicate records to dispose of. Oft times it's simply easier and more expedient (or the seller insists) to buy an entire box of records at a yard sale. I've traded a few with other collectors, but that doesn't help dispose of the real common stuff, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, and the usual Classic Rock.
A consignment-thrift shop recently opened in my town. I went in and saw a motley assortment of dogeared LPs, ranging in price from a couple bucks to $30 for MJ's "Thriller." Ha, ha, ha, I know, I know. The shop owner said yes, some of the cheaper ones were selling.
So I built a nice two-tiered wooden rack, painted it white and printed an attractive sign, stapled to the front inside a plastic sleeve. I filled the rack with 100 LPs, ranging in price from $2 to $5. Lots of stuff including Country Western, Classical, Jazz, and Classic Rock. All attractively presented in plastic inner and outersleeves.
Two weeks later, the shop owner had a check for $33 for me. WOO HOO! Finally found a way to get rid of common stuff that's in too nice a shape to haul to the landfill.
No, I'm not going to get rich doing this... the real reward is my wife's reaction. Absolutely thrilled to see records going out and money coming in. :-)
The common stuff ($1 to $5 records) pretty much have to be sold locally. Few people are willing to spend $2.50 for media mail on a $2.00 Billy Joel record purchased sight unseen on the hope it really is "Near Mint." Not when it's easy enough to find the same very common record locally.
In general, the only time I buy or acquire used records through the internet:
1) Small lots of hard to find records.
2) More desirable records in the $10.00 & up range that I have little hope of finding locally.
3) Swap with other collectors.
In those cases, I can justify the cost of media mail shipping.
