  I've heard a few versions of the Walker Proscenium (Gold) turntable, and it has always "sucked" because I was enthralled with the sound and bowled over by the engineering and construction, but knew I'd never be able to afford such a beautiful thing. When I was young, a Goldmund Reference was THE table (other than some Micro Seiki jobs) that tugged on my heartstrings.
  
  Now? The Walker Audio table is what I just wish I could find someplace at a yardsale...

  I have to say there is nothing wrong with Technics 1200 series TTs..
  Nor any other TT brands.
  I just got annoyed back when Technics 1200 gusher threads were flowing all the time. And ANY thread about 'what TT should I buy' got a flock of Technics owners gushing over it like it was the best thing since marmalade. It was like some gang of KAB buddies had a fanboy club for the model.
  No other group seems to be around quite like the Technics fanboys were back when.
  Odd isn't it?
  Anyway, that is why I give Technics a hard time. And it is the ONLY reason.
  Personally i have no grudge against the Technics 1200 tables.. except the tonearm is from the stone age... But not MUCH worse than the Denon arms on Denons semiauto tables.. LOL...
