I'm not a Buyer & Seller, and in fact pursuing becoming a minimalist. But are these a good buy for someone at the asking price?

If the cabinets are in nice shape, yes. The AR2 family and the AR5 used the same 10" woofer with a high Qts. The result is a bass system Q of 1.2, which is quite high, and a 50 Hz system resonance. The sound is fairly punchy in the bass, and good for jazz, folk, some rock and popular, and because of the smooth mids and highs, pretty good for classical and chamber music.
A lot of people, me included, like the bass in the AR2's better than the AR3a.

You could do better maybe a good deal better moneywise. I wouldn't want three either. Cosmetically they are above to way above average. If I were going to own them the crossovers would need new parts and I'd delete the level controls. I see that these have new covers and refoam only. Good luck, fine speaker.

I am not really up on modern pricing, even though I own 2 pair. Both have on blown woofer, so my plans are to put them together to make one good pair. I bought both pairs from thrift stores, so I didn't pay much. My uneducated opinion is that they a good deal at that price. If that is what someone wants, they are an old speaker and don't come up that often. Of course, condition is everything and if anything is not as stated, that changes the value.
