Cool amp for sure! And the Zappa clip is amazing.
In the early to mid-70s I worked with a group that put on concerts including an annual Halloween Masquerade Ball with 10,000 to 15,000 in attendance. One year our headliner was Country Joe McDonald who, of course, had played at Woodstock. He had an all female backing band that were really good. The following year he invited us to hear him and Barry Melton (aka The Fish) perform in the Jacksonville Coliseum as a duo. They were the opening act for a few rock bands - I think it was Blue Oyster Cult, REO Speedwagon and Foghat. They walked on stage, each carrying a guitar and a Pignose, sat down on folding chairs and played to a packed Coliseum. Talk about traveling light! Of course the Pignoses were miked.
Wow, they even make a modern knock-off! (see link) Of corse the original is much more cool.

The new ones are made in China. Company headquarter is now in Las Vegas. The primo ones were the 1970-80s made in Los Angeles ones. Guess they used better IC chips in those. They do sound better than late 1980-90's Made in Gardenia, CA or the recent ones.

Great FZ clip; greatly underrated guitarist. Also love that SG.
Mod the crap out of it and upgrade the PS. I saw Zappa in Baltimore playing through a Pig nose sitting on a metal chair close mic'd.

These early LA built ones are going up in $$$. I have two others, that I've added external speaker outputs. If this one is nice and original, may just check filter caps.

My buddy had one in high school in the 70's. They are cool.

Why does a battery-powered amp need filter caps?
