Crumb is an amazing artist -
and do not forget the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers cartoon-
It is reported that he has a rather substantial collection of 78s
so those records behind him are most probably part of that collection-
I cant recall his equipment - but there was a rather complete - at the time - documentary done on him in the late '90s or early 2000s...

Follow Ups:
Done by Terry Zwigoff who Crumb plays music with (along with a friend's dad - all are avid, devoted 78 collectors and old friends) when he's in this area.
Crumb ISN'T much interested in money these days, but if you have the right 78 to trade him... well, you have it made.

I could hardly call it a comedy. I loved the art he did and have most of his LPs, but watching what happened to his brother during that movie was pretty tragic. His 78rpm record collecting zeal is comically illustrated by Crumb's cover art on the Yazoo 2 CD set of old timey and blues music.
