Does anyone have any experience with the KEF 105.2 speakers?
I believe that when they were introduced they were considered a "reference level" speaker and incorporated many "firsts" in speaker design.
I found a pair on the local Craiglist for $275.00.
Buy or run away???

I've owned the KEF 102, 103.2, 104.2, 105.2, 105/3 and 107's. My favorites were the 105.2 and 107's. They both threw a soundtsage into the next room and let you just listen to the music. I thought the 103.2 had a great midrange, but the treble could be a little fatigue. And the 105/3 with the uni-q tweeter was a step down from the 105.2, did little for me. the 102 and 104.2's were in the middle. Buy them!!!
I too thought the uni-q was a step down. I really liked KEF's until the switched, but after that, they just sounded wrong to me. Supposedly, current uni-q's are reputed to sound good, but I haven't heard one yet.

and I drove them with ARC D-90 tube power amp and ARC SP 9 pre amp. They sounded as good as you ever going to hear from them given the front end system. Anyway, they are very polite sounding speakers and if you like your sound to have a little bit of grit on it these speakers won't be able to deliver it for you.

I purchase a pair of KEF 103.2 speakers. They are the little brother to the 105.2. They are suppose to sound simular with the 105.2 having deeper bass. I really like the 103.2 a lot. Very natural sounding especially with voices and acoustic instruments. The 105.2 have deeper bass would probably be better for more types of music. If they are in good shape, I would ask if you can listen to them. I like that sound but you may not....
Condition is everything with used speakers. Look them over very well. Check the drivers and listen to them.
Speakers tend to have a sound of their own. I think the Kefs do. Do you know their sound?
