I'd offer nothing! The "panache" of the 8B makes it a poor value. The 8B is a fine amp, but not at the prices being quoted.
Look for a H/K Cit. 5. Easily as much power, great sound, and a lower price.

The value seems to be in it's name and myth. I always wanted a HK Citation anyway.
But the Marantz is worth zero until you see it. If it looks good and all the iron tests good as Fredtr said.Eli said some good stuff too. I still think a modern amp could be had for less that was as good. So then you get into what's the goal? If you want to have a Marantz then get it. If you pay the right price and its not a lemon you'll likely get your money back or more if you sell it later on.
I can't give a price without more condition data.

...even by (esp by?) today's standards. Because it's also quite collectible, the term "value" takes on an added dimension: it's also an investment even in so-so condition. Few audio components can claim this status. Up to this point, there's no myth.
While the CitV is a fine amp, it will probably never achieve the classic status of an 8B.
Pay you money, take your choice!
