In Reply to: RE: B&O Hojttler Type S Speakers - great find or dud? posted by makscopes on September 24, 2016 at 12:19:39
I have a thought, and I'm not trying to be mean, but I am trying to understand something.
If you've already bought the B&O speakers, why don't you hook them up, listen to them, and tell us if they're a find or not?
If you were trying to decide whether or not to buy them, then maybe someone who's heard them could be of help. But since you apparently already have them, then yours is the only opinion that matters.

I would just like to know if they are indeed rare. They need work, but sound great. I think i have a valid question with this. Radio Shack Nova 7Bs sound great, but have no value. I don't know much about this vintage speaker, but would like to know more. Isn't that what this forum us for?
Not to pick a fight or anything like that but I wonder how a speaker with rotted foam surrounds can be said to "sound great"?
One speaker is fine, the other is not. Please no more troll comments. It contributes nothing.
makscopes,
I asked my question because of the wording of your post, and I quote -
"I think that THEY are original drivers. THEY are all alnico and fit perfectly. The WOOFERS SURROUNDS have deteriorated, so i hope that a traditional foam surround will fix THEM. See the picture".
By your pluralizing "WOOFERS SURROUNDS", "THEY" (twice), and "THEM" you certainly led me to believe that the woofers in both speakers were defective, hence my comment.
I prefaced my question by stating that I didn't want to start anything negative and I meant it, but because of either your lack of comprehension of the English language or just pure dishonesty I no longer feel that way.
You label me a troll? I call you illiterate and/or a bullshit artist.
Have a shitty day,
SB
But you didn't mention that you were looking for anything more than "great find or dud?", and to me, that means sound quality.
I'm glad you think they sound great (which to me means they were a great find), and hopefully someone can answer your question regarding rarity, now that you've posed it.
