I sold the Adcom bipolar amps and I never had one come back because it was too harsh sounding. I did not think they were a good match for a super detailed and/or bright speakers such as Acoustat or Kirksader, but I think any of the Adcom bipolar amps would work great with Jerry's concoctions. I had a 555 in my system for a while and it worked great with My ADS 990's. I agree that updating the electrolytics would be prudent.

For those, you really needed a product that Pass had complete control over. And wasn't restricted to being built to a modest price point.
I was quite happy using a Threshold Stasis with my Acoustats for many years...
Since I currently own a Threshold amp, I don't doubt it!

That still is my favorite SS amp to this day. I like mono versions to.
