I have and love a Sherwood S5000II that uses 7868 outputs. I have replaced and stiffened the power supply caps and put polypropylene caps in the audio path. It sounds great, very neutral. I also have some modified Bogen tube mono-blocks that use 7868's and a MAC 1500 that uses 7591's so I am very familiar with that sound.
Over the last couple of months without trying I have been extremely lucky to acquire the other three amps listed above. All three are in nice shape and both the HK and Scott tubes test good, the Scott virtually like new!I am in the process of refurbing the HK at the moment. the HK uses 6L6GC's, the Scott 7189's which fortunately test new, and the EICO 7591's.
I realize the only way I will answer the subject question properly is to refurb all three and compare in my system with my ears. That being said, the reason I come on this forum is it is fun to hear opinions and advice from you all so please have at it. Which of these integrated do you guys think is the best? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
Thanks
Gary

It's no secret how fond I am of Sherwood amps. The 7868 S5000ll isn't my favorite of the Sherwoods because I don't like a 12AX7 to be used a driver..They are great for a voltage amp,but not to drive outputs..You can mod them with a better tube like a 7247 tho.
The four amps you mention in your title are all fantastic. They all sound different but all sound excellent if you upgrade them properly.
I like the LK48 and ST40 but you want a 35uf to 40uf poly off the GZ34.That will wake those amps up.

I always appreciate your input.
