They are far from worthless now. Unless you live at the bottom of a narrow few hundred yard wide valley 100 miles away from any FM worth listening to like me. I sold my Eico setup with a souped up hft 90 FM, hft 94 AM and MX 99 multiplexor.

Follow Ups:
AM- right wing talk radio or sports talk.
FM- classic rock or current pop/hip hop.
Unless you're a glutton for punishment or you listen for the emergency test warning, a radio is pretty much worthless.
There is no beer in food, but there is food in beer.
Tube tuners do still seem to hold their value and the best of the best of transistor tuners can still fetch good prices. However, my current best sounding tuner, the B&K TS-108, doesn't sell for much. The Tuner Information Center says that it Ebays for $130 to $190. Not bad for a peace this age, but a very good deal for the buyer of a piece this good. Ergonomics suck. I don't know if that affects the price and those prices might not be up to date.
