....It didn't play really loud .. but at a very nice listen level.....
What did it ..... was the sound of the amp !

.. it's a Wurlitzer 660 amp chassis ( Mono ), converted to Stereo 5842 IT coupled to PP45's .. the M.L.'s were driven by this amp NO preamp .
Fun Stuff!
Will
Were you running it on the hybrid Logans with a built in subwoofer amp? They drive nicely with low powered amps..

Not sure if they were Hybrid's or not. This was about 4 yrs. ago and I don't remember anything about them..... I'll have to contact him and ask if they were..... It was fun to hear though !

Baba Wawa's Wawacs?
I have no idea Ralf. I do know that the 811-160s have a high gain of course and I use those in my Altec/Tutay 1570s I built 10 years ago. They have a film cap supply as well and I was thinking of pulling off the Cit 2s and trying them on the CLXs.

playing on the misspelling of Wavac. That immediately reminded me of the old SNL skits with Gilda Radner. Sorry, I was having a senior moment. :)
A pair of sh-833s went for a cool $350k more than ten years ago!
Its the one that YT auto queues after your first vid. All equip listed. Sick image where the others you imbeded not so much. A little rough on the hf on the secong one especially when the camera was pointed in the center of the two speakers. Sorry cant embed on this pos tablet. Not trying to one up you it just started pkaying and blew me away. As always set to 480p or higher.ET

I was going to post that one to but I wasn't sure what the poster meant when he said he was running the NSX-1000s..Was he running them full range with the 57s or just the woofers of the cabinets along with the 57s..At any rate it sounded very good.

Yes that was confusing. Great sound and he listed what he used to record with as well.

IMHO, pales in comparison to Dusty's...
Just my opinion, mind you. Love the setup, though.

I love Dusty. The point of my post was more Quad 57 but with really sick audio quality.

Yeah, I know. But, that Krall version kinda killed the song, for me. So no matter what kinda stereo... what is on the turntable makes a difference.
It's just me.

I didnt think it was that bad. Vocals are only a part of the recording too. Are you an anti Krall? I own none of her albums and she is overvplayed by philes but Im not antiET

But, if you are going to cover that song --- supremely done by Dusty --- better have something different going on in the new version. I mean the vocal AND the sax and trumpet soloes are outrageous in the 1967 song.Ok... ok... I have to admit I'm a Dusty Springfield fan. So, maybe I'm a little more critical of songs that cover her work.
