I deleted that post when I realized it was a 110.Dual volume controls are the way to go and eliminate the balance pot.

I'm not in need of a balance control if a suitable replacement can't be found (at a reasonable price). If I wanted to eliminate it, how would I know what resistor is required? In other words, what's the resistance of the original balance pot at the center point?
Thanks for your advice!
A balance control works by adding resistance to the volume control circuitry of 1 channel and reducing the volume of that channel. In the center/"neutral" position, resistance is not added to either of the 2 channels.
I'm uploading part of the DH-110 schematic. All you need do is short the "hot" terminal of each balance control deck to its corresponding wiper and the deck is out of the signal path. Make certain that you do not short the wipers to the grounded terminals.

it's going to read 50k at the halfway point..If it is log or audio taper,it will read about 10% to 15% of the original value which would be 10k or 15k..If you have the original pot,set it at center of rotation and read from center pin to either side of the pot and that will tell you whether it is log or linear taper..Use the resistor value you measure. If you aren't sure still,I would give Frank VanAlstine a call as he is real nice to talk to and he could answer any questions and he probably has the part you may want. He is the Hafler guru and has does some amazing stuff with Halfer and Dyna.

Thanks Michael and Eli for the advice. Frank doesn't have the exact pot and doesn't recommend replacing it out of fear of damaging the double sided board. I haven't had trouble in the past replacing pots on the board but maybe I've just been lucky. I'll try cleaning the existing pot a few more times to see if it works again and if not, I'll just remove the balance control from the circuit. Cheers!
