Is my guess. Never seen one in person.

Yes indeed.
I have a BC-610E in my garage that I got 10 years ago and I'm having the power transformer rewound in the modulator from the guy up in Maine.

She would be the perfect wife for someone in audio or ham radio.Attractive lady with all our same interests and knows how to rebuild and upgrade vintage gear. She keeps one of her stations in Michigan but she is one of the most active hams, man or woman.

Mike,
I got your message about the rebuilds, and that will be a great project one of these days. For now, I have too many projects going on.
I will contact you when I am ready. (if you will provide some long-distance advice.) Just to clarify, I will do the rebuild myself.
Thank you,
Gene

That's the nicest BC610 I've ever seen. A lot of them look like they've been raised from the bottom of the ocean.
Liz (K4GHT) has a nice one, too. Check her QRZed page.
I need something in that power range. My DX60 sometimes can't cut through the static crashes, although I have QSOed with people in your neck of the woods.
and I also use my Apache on occasion although I did do the innerstage mod which helped quite a bit with the scratchy reputation. You should pick one of these or a DX100.
