I like how the women on the assembly line have their names on their tool boxes, and look at that wiring harness. What a cool video thanks for sharing... Makes me want to give some attention to my hallicrafters radio!

I did notice one thing on my SX28a and that is,someone installed a switch modification and I think it may be for the calibrator but I have to look closer.I have an extra face plate and I think I will put it back to original and install a switch in an area less conspicuous.
I have an SX28 as well and if you ever get one don't get the sx28 as they are too hard to recap the RF deck..Get the SX28a instead.

  I have a couple lower end models, an S-40 and an S-77. The 77 is a hot chassis, and a bit lower quality but it otherwise similar to the S-40. The S-40 is really beat up and used. Have yet to do a recap on either, I changed the filters on the 77 in the 90s and used it with a long wire in the back yard... content on SW is getting really crappy these days, else I would want to give them some more attention! A friend of mine has a Hallicrafters TV in the same sort of cabinet, now that's a neat device.

Love the intro! A HUMONGOUS converted 16-inch naval gun. And some spotters: "Uh, guys... maybe 200 yards to the left." Then, BOOM --- all you see is smoke and debris for 30 seconds.

"Uh, guys... a little too close."
