easy wall mounting! Gear can be placed on much smaller rack.
Also allows it to be placed at whatever height you want and clears it out of the way for speakers.

Funny you should mention flat screens. Just yesterday I gave away a 40" LCD TV. After getting a few new flat screen TVs I forgot just how damn heavy those older LCD TVs really were. Reminded me of the old days of picture tube TVs - the widow maker!
I'm coming along. pretty well despite several missteps. I think everything is going to go together pretty much as I had hoped. Here is a photo of the old TV and setup. When I get the new one and stand in place I will take a new photo. TV will be higher, so the painting (a DLD special) got moved
I got the sub working from both systems by driving it off the TV audio output.
The various speakers stay the same.
Fingers crossed everything will still work.
