Sometimes you just have to go with what your ears tell you. I have found that all else being equal, that lower powered amps tend to sound better than their identical or almost identical higher powered amp. Simple is better. We I sold audio, the low powered Denon was their best sounding integrated amp. The same was true of Adcom. As FemderLover said, it look like you found a sleeper.

Follow Ups:
I never really noticed how low powered this amp really was untill I looked up the specs. The rear says "100 watts" but I think they mean power consumption? Anyways this amp had drive sounded clean and musical with those little Audio Notes. I couldn't believe how much better it aounded compared to the Jolida, which was suppsedly a "match made in heaven" for the Ax-Two.
Maybe time to try a parts upgrade?
Dave
I'd be willing, but don't have a solder and never done diy upgrades before. Wouldn't know where to start really.

all the best,
