Well how does it sound?Sony did maintain a certain level of audio and parts quality. Even in the "dark ages" of the eighties. But remember these where built for a target price and the typical cheesy 80's setup.
So match them up with those cheesy set of speakers and you're set.

Have not really tried it on any speakers yet,but plan to soon! I promise I will let everyone know how good or bad it sounds!Since I got spoiled on the remote & adjustable Loudness on the Yamaha,I am already leaning more towards the Yamaha.
Yeah I hear ya on that remote issue.
For me it's a must being the three stations i listen too all have very different volume outputs. Make life easier now that I'm no longer 39!
I will be 52 this year & now must wear Hearing Aids! I have a friend who has excellent ears, that tunes all my equipment as best as it can be! I do notice the difference in sound between the different set ups I have around the house and they all work well for me & anyone else who listens! I am lucky to have him as I can not set tone controls right any where near as good as he can anymore! But I can now truly enjoy listening to music again at normal levels and without annoying others!Which is what this great hobby is all about! happy listening my friend!
Did use Headphones though & the Yamaha, sounds better using Headphones!
