I was driving 1.7 Maggies with a Mike Samra re-built Mc240 and they sounded very nice.I am now driving the Maggies with a Mc275 that Mike also re-built and it opened the sound stage up and improved the focus and detail even at normal or moderate volume levels.

Sounds wonderful. I heard a pair of Maggies years ago, and what impressed me the most was their huge sound stage and full mid-range. What I didn't like was the roll off in the bass and treble. I sold a pair of Quad 57s a little over a year after purchase for that very reason. Well, to each his /her own, right?
I'm using a pr. of M & K subs with the Maggies to add weight to the low end.
It's the kind of system I'd like to hear because it differs so much from my a/d/s 1230s. I've owned them since 1983 and have never had a need to replace them.
