Hi, When you look close at that picture and see the prize fish caught proudly displayed it could date that picture back to the cave man days.
If your Columbo, look carefully and you will see one of those how to do books for dummies. It's yellow and black. Popular Mechanics and Electronics were the how to books of the day.
Now if your a Hi-fi nut your eyes might drift past the semi nude body of Julie Newmar and see a Heathkit Gold of the mid 50's, a sort of Fighting Irish football helmet color unpainted since season last. At the time Heathkit made amps and tuners with that gold but no receivers yet. I would say an early Fisher or Pilot receiver. That was a great picture Brian!
When you watch Leave it to Beaver and the Donna Reed Show reruns, late 50's to early 60's you see that same book shelf look. You never saw an ugly old tube amp which was mostly hidden.Anything with a flange style faceplate was made to be built in a cabinet or book shelf. You don't see that too much any more in Absolute Sound. Hiding a Marantz 9, Dyna-70, or a McIntosh any number proved woman had a major influence in Hi-fi.....Mark Korda.
