I bought a Shure M97xe as a stopgap measure. I had been using various MC cartridges. It sounded so good on my Grace 707/ LP12 that I never bothered to upgrade. There is something about that track everything with ease sound that I find very attractive. I will be trying an ADC XLM II Improved and a JICO stylus on the Shure, but there is a lot to like about the stock Shure. What is the rest of the system? It looks like a Rega arm on the Thorens idler, but I don't recognize the integrated amp (?).

Yes, a Rega (modified) RB250 on the TD124. The integrated amp is a Bell Carillion 6060 (EL34 based). The CD players is an OPPO, the speakers are from Usher but I don't remember the model number. I've used the ADC XLM II before (on a Grace 707) and really liked it. I may have to dig it out of the garage and give it another try.
I think the JICO will work on an XLM, ZLM and VLM. It is well liked on the Vinyl Asylum if you need a new needle. I am very fond of the Grace. It is a very nice low mass arm. I like a cartridge arm combination that will track anything that you can throw at it.
