I haven't heard them all, sad to say. For me, these are more like a "future" project. I want to do something with them but have not had much time or space to work with a big wood project. I did take the L100's over to a single friend's cave and we listened for a while. Impression was good, even with blown mids! I think those woofers have potential for a two-way with a tweeter that goes a little lower.
My wife would not let any of them into our common spaces as-is. The Valencias didn't even make it past the back porch. The best thing you could say about those cabinets is that they did a good job protecting the insides. I removed the drivers and left the cabinets out there. I have a space now for doing woodwork that I didn't have a few years ago but time is a precious commodity.

There are lots of plans for the Valencia woofers on the web. You should be able to find something that you can put together that will have more WAF. I think it should be an alnico 416. It is worth a lot by itself. It is too bad the cabinets were trash. It is a nice looking speaker when they are in good condition.

The 15" are 416A. And 806A driver on H811B horn. All 16 ohm.
The fretwork grille on the originals is especially attractive, but mine did not have that. Mine may have been homemade, but a pretty good job originally, just stored very badly. Funny thing was that one had a port and one didn't. Odd. I had a conversation with GM over a period of months one time about the highest use for them. He was thinking a taller aspect MLTL cabinet. At the time I did not have space in the listening area for even that narrower width, and the project never got off the drawing board. Things have changed and I may return to that thinking. It would be nice to be able to play with some SET with ease.
Thanks for the encouragement!
John
An ML/TL sounds like a great plan. Good luck with it!
