Many post WW2 East German (DDR) made stuff = not-so-good quality. It appears that this company may have been associated with RFT.

Well, printed on the back is stenciled made in W. Germany.I would expect quality, or the lack there of, from a country where waiting in lines for bread, ass wipe, and potatoes was the norm - Not West Germany.
When I think of West Germany I think of Telefunken, Porsche, BMW, Heckler & Koch, Zeiss, Braun, Stihl etc.....All names synonymous with craftsmanship.

I also think of riding in a VW Bug with the floorboards so rusted I could see the road going by under the car, through them!

Interesting. I have Juwel a company under Stern-Radio, Rochlitz. DDR. Eastern Germany, during the communist era. It is a town in Saxony.

Loewe Opta is the manufaturer, founded in Berlin and moved to West Germany after the war, to Dusseldorf if I remember correctly.
