It involved a 17 year-old me poking around the innards of an Ampeg SVT bass guitar head (with SIX 6550 output tubes) while wearing my high school ring.
I remember hearing a loud snap, a shooting pain up my right arm, and then nothing until I woke up about 8 feet away from the workbench on the floor. I still have scars around the finger where that ring was.

Thanks for the warning. The last time I really worked on tube gear I was not married. I have a few pieces I need to get running. The ring will come off when I work on them!
