Well Today I went & got the rest of the stuff from the guy I got the Kenwood Turntable from and Managed to score a pair of Optimus Mach 3's!
I know there is a love hate relationship over the Mach Series from Radio Shack!Has anyone here ever owned or had a chance to listen to for any length of time to the Mach 3's?There were 2 versions of the Mach 3's & mine are the 1993 versions rather then the ones from 1992!

In my dumpster diving days at the recycle center I came across a perfect, and I mean this thing looked like it came right out of the box, Optonica receiver.
This was a silver faced type. Built like a tank and sounded like a TOTL Pioneer or something similar. One HECK of a damn fine sounding and looking piece of audio.
And like the other posters - WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING OF LETTING IT GO????
Ah - but that's audio. Regrets and a life long learning curve.

You have to let go of some gear to let other gear into your life, unless you are a hoarder...then you cant listen to it anyway...

I found that, if Radio Shack produced a half-way decent piece of audio gear, it was basically by accident. I bought stuff that was being discontinued, so it was fire-sale-priced. Most of the stuff sounded like crap, but it often served my limited purposes for it.The passive subwoofer was one of those good-sounding-purely-by-chance items.

Very good gear for the price ... and for the time. I had one of their tuners, wish I hadn't sold it.
Well, I'll let you guys sort that Optonica thing out.

I once owned an Optimus passive subwoofer. I'm beginning to regret having gotten rid of it.
