So I've got some closer pictures and have clear identification on more items.
Not particularly interesting are:
Yamaha CD-X3 CD player (1986)
Technics SU-A6MK2 Preamp (1983)
Technics SE-A5 (?) Power Amp
Technics SH8075 Graphic Equaliser
More interesting are:
- The crossover is a Goto CF-1.
- The Sony amps say TA-N86 without "b" on the front.
- I'm assuming the turntable is indeed Technics GT-750 although I don't have a close enough picture to read the number from.
- Haven't got a picture of the cartridge, although the relation who was there says it has a very small cantilever ("it could do with being longer"!) so I wonder if it's a Decca or similar.
What's the ball-park value of these? The family assumed that as it is "old hifi" it's worthless. (I might buy the Sonys for myself, although I'd have to think up a use for them.)
Follow Ups:
...is a Yamaha GT-750.
Dean.
reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
You've got to remember this stuff has been sitting for quite a few years and you don't really know how well it works or what repairs might be needed. Even if it worked perfectly 10 years ago, capacitors, among other things, do not age gracefully. If you are buying it yourself, protect yourself on price, family or not. You can do your own research on ebay or elsewhere to see what range of prices are realized on COMPLETED auctions that actually resulted in a SALE. Looking at any other ebay auctions is just confusing. Good luck negotiating the complicated issues of "family" and "money." I don't envy you that one!
I'd vote for them just giving it all to you since you are obviously the only audiophile in the family. Isn't that what the departed would have wanted?
ps Don't forget to check out the vinyl collection...
