Nice post! Reminded me of a DIY speaker project, a long time ago. A friend built two speaker cabs out of fiberglass, Lucite, and wood. He used to make his own surf boards.
Sealed cab. An active JBL LE 10-A woofer and a PR10 passive in each. 075s on top. DIY crossovers. He had some kinda Marantz SS amp, I forgot the specific model. Think it was around 50 watts per channel.
That darn speaker sounded quite good.

Sounds like that fellow had more skills than I have at the moment, but trying new things is always fun. This is the first speaker project I have done in years, and it was a lot of fun. It has me thinking about trying another.
I used to build sealed enclosures years ago, but now that I have gone over to SET amps I would have to stay with more efficent designs.
My cabinet maker skills are not that great though. I may have to settle for concentrating on the sound instead of the look.

Madisound and Parts Express have premade speaker cabinets. You could probably find one to fit.

Maybe so, but I would rather build it myself even if it is a little rough. As long as it sounds good!
More power to you!
