I have a 9302-00 stereo amp with 6bq5 output tubes, probably 10wpch. Lately it has been sounding very rolled off at the top end and overly bass heavy. Should I get the tubes checked? Take it to a tech?

This is something that developed? The Maggie console amps have some capacitors that were meant to tailor the sound to the built-in console speakers. Normally those are removed if the amp is to be used with normal speakers. Has this amp been worked on much?

This work is about 2 years old, not done by me. I noticed the can capcitor is still above chassis, probably original.

Could be tubes, but probably a sign of failing capacitors. If nothing's been done to it, time to take it to a tech.

Has had several capacitors replaced about 2 years ago, but it makes sense that rolloff would be a capacitor issue.
