That Fisher is a SE amplifier design.
The Fisher Philharmonic uses two dual pentode ELL80 tubes in push pull. One tube per channel. The tubes are pretty hard to come by.
I found one on the side of the road years ago.
John
with 3 watts/channel-
I thought that the OPT looked small....
Happy Listening
and if you read the datasheet correctly, output power for class AB push-pull is stated as 8.5 watts.
each pentode system in the envelope is similar to EL95 and similar to the pentode system of the ECL82.
when ELL80 is used single-ended, you'll end up with 2 x 3 watts from one envelope. grundig used it this way in their first portable stereo tape recorders.
the best - nicolas
State of the art. Definately.
If only JBL or electrostatics or highend speakers today were as good.
State of who's art? Certainly not mine.......
1. The author is actually posting about a TV/Radio/Dishwasher console.
A CONSOLE!
2. He's head over heals about it
3. Authority Brian Levy's just as excited and advising that he skip work....to get the....CONSOLE!
Not a rare painting.
Not a rare vinyl pressing.
Not a beautiful supermodel.
Not a rare McIntosh, or Audio Research, or Conrad-Johnson, or Spectral Research...........a CONSOLE!
4. Did you see the picture of those pathetic, cheap-assed, super-ultra-low-fi drivers? The ones with the teenie-tiny magnets and the cheap, stamped frame drivers, paper accordian edge surrounds for maximum reflected energy?
They're rear mounted in an unbraced, hollow, resonating furniture...furniture, not a purpose-designed loudspeaker enclosure... the sound of which gets to blast straight at the turntable, in addition to vibrating all of the rest of the cabinet, in which the turntable rests.
THAT - That's state of the art.
That's skip-work run-out-of-the-office-now state-of-the-art.
It don't get no better'n dat.
Just between you and me (because I don't think many are reading down this far), if a saw that thing at a thrift store, it would still be there when I left. I'm just sayin' ...
P.S. I got the sarcasm before you explained it!
Dave
Well, the tubes might be a good bet to pull out and attempt to buy. The cashier would be mystified, probably.
I had that model once, they definitely are not!
That is a give-a-way. Someone needs to skip work and grab this FAST!!!!!!

BTW - does that come with or without bed bugs?
OTOH, nevermind.
[The last shred of respect I had for you just vanished.]
