Thanks Jim. I checked his site. I think rewinding will be cost prohibitive. If the amp was mint i would do it. Ill have to wait and see if a used one shows up .

Follow Ups:
Do the math. If a PAIR of Edcor CXPP25-MS-8K/23% trafos cost less than rewinding, making that purchase makes some sense. You get to sell the 1 good trafo in the unit and get some cash back.
BTW, the Edcor product would allow you to experiment with a bit of ultra-linear local NFB.

I do like Eli's suggestion. This is too good an amp to toss aside. Even if not cosmetically the best, the chassis and other hardware are already in place with a proven design.
