The gods were shining on me Sunday. Driving down the street and this was staring me in the face from the curb. Some kind person set it up on a cardboard box so it wouldn't get messy. My first quadraphonic receiver. Spent time today cleaning it up. She sounds great and everything seems to work!
What speaker would have typically been purchased with a unit like this?

I lusted for this - a built in Dolby processor, for a Teac 3340 four channel Reel to reel! A set of Advents (Large in Front - Fours in the back) would be good.

Respectfully disagree with BigguyinATL & his "great find" assertion! With all due respect, & considering condition-n-presentation, HMBII made a "revenge" find!!!
Thanks! I still can't believe it happened. What's a 'revenge' find????
I kind of thought Large Advents would have been a consideration, but wasn't sure. I connected a pair of Small Advents to it and was surprised how good they sounded.
Now find yourself a pair of KLH Six speakers and you should be good to go.
Small Advents are very good sounding and performing speakers. I use them with my 2245 and Sansui TA-500 with absolutely great results!
Best,
Dave
HMBII, it's when previous owner of said equipment, in this case an extremely desirable Marantz 4240 Receiver, pisses off significant other significantly! Instead of raging-n-destroying a classique, however, aggrieved assuages their angst by knowing someone else will derive as much pleasure from artifact as previous owner! Hell hath no fury, ya know???
